The National Union of Education Workers (SNTE) and the Secretariat of Public Education (SEP) reinforce institutional ties, in favor of teachers and the education of children and young people.
This was evident during the first meeting of the year between the head of the unit, Esteban Moctezuma Barragán, and the leadership of the SNTE, led by its general secretary, Alfonso Cepeda Salas, who attended to the invitation of the SEP in the company of the members of the National Organs of Trade Union Government and 55 secretaries of sections from all around the country.
In an atmosphere of cordiality, Cepeda Salas said that, in its capacity as a national union, the SNTE "will deepen the demands of education workers", to recover the value of teachers in society, but always by the institutional way, dialogue and the construction of agreements.
"With the genuine commitment, with our vocation as teachers and trade unionists, we will achieve, in the future, this stage of cooperation between the national magisterium and the government of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, through the Secretariat of Public Education and its titular, Esteban Moctezuma, transcends as the most important stage of strengthening national public education of recent times ".
In the same way, the Secretary of Public Education stressed that "we arrived at this meeting driven by an enormous conviction and new commitments to the national teaching. The first is to consolidate a relationship between the National Union of Education Workers and the Secretariat, through a permanent institutional dialogue. "
The leader of the teaching profession and the secretary of Education agreed that the attention of the demands of the teachers and their professionalization is a fundamental pillar for the development of the country.
